BRASS BAND MUSIC

CONTEST FOR CORONATION MARCH

The New Zealand Broadcasting Service is offering a prize of £5O for a coronation march for a brass band. The competition Will be judged by two well-known musicians whose names will be announced later.

Entries are limited to: (a) residents of New Zealand who were born in the Dominion, or who arrived before attaining the age of 10 years; (b) persons born outside New Zealand, but who have lived in the Dominion for 20 years; and (c) New Zealanders who will have been overseas for not more, than five years before February 2, 1952 (the closing date of entries). The composer of the prize-winning entry must grant to the Broadcasting Service the. exclusive and continuing New Zealand broadcasting rights, but will retain all other rights. Entrants should write for the standard brass band instrumentation for contests, set out in the detailed list of conditions. These may be obtained from the librarian of the Broadcasting Service in Wellington.
