TECHNIQUES IN GAS INDUSTRY

STUDY TO BE AIDED BY SCHOLARSHIP (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 22. The Gas Association of New Zealand, at its forty-fourth annual conference in Wellington last week, decided to establish a travelling scholarship to enable a university graduate to study in England the latest techniques of the gas industry. A condition of the award is that the successful scholar shall return to take up a position with the gas industry in New Zealand. The scholarship is worth £250 and is tenable for one year. Tne association also decided to inaugurate a system of regular technical refresher courses, primarily for the benefit of managers and engineers of gasworks outside the main centres. The courses will deal with chemistry, retort house practice, and distribution problems.
