NEW BISHOP OF DUNEDIN

ELECTORAL SESSION HELD

(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, October 22. A special electoral session of the Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Dunedin was held today, to elect a bishop to succeed the Rt. Rev. W. A. R. Fitchett, who died recently. The session was presided over by the Bishop of Waiapu (the Rt. Rev. N. A. Lesser), acting as the Primate’s commissiary. The electoral session was held in camera, and no announcement can be expected for about a fortnight, as the nominee must be approved by the Primate and the other bishops, and by a majority of the standing committees of the other dioceses.
