CHARTER PLANE SERVICE
NEW COMPANY SEEKS LICENCE FLIGHTS PROPOSED FROM AUCKLAND. (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, October 22. To operate an air charter service from Auckland to any other part of New Zealand where there is a suitable area of water or a licensed airstrip, a new company, New Zealand Tourist Air Travel, Ltd., is being formed. An application for a licence to operate the service will be sought at a sitting of the Air Services’ Licensing Authority towards the end of this month. The representative of the new company in Wellington, Mr N. A. Morrison, a solicitor, said today that no decision had yet been made on the type of aircraft to be used by the company, but negotiations .were being carried on overseas for aircraft which would have to combine facilities for both business and pleasure flights. Survey flights around the Hauraki Gulf have already been made by the company. Mr Morrison said shareholders in the company lived in all parts of New Zealand. The company would begin operations with two aircraft, and would gradually build up a fleet.
