MELBOURNE AIR SERVICE
SIX EXTRA FLIGHTS FOR SUMMER
Six extra flights for the summer schedule on the Christchurch-Mel-bourne air service have been arranged by Tasman Empire Airways. Skymasters chartered from Trans-Aus-tralia Airlines Will be used to supplement the regular service operated with Skymasters chartered from Qantas Empire Airways. For'the extra flights the Skymaster will leave Melbourne for Christchurch on Mondays and return from the international airport on Tuesdays. The dates on which the extra flights will be run from Christchurch ate November 25, December 23, January 20, February 24. and March 10 ana 24. The aircraft will arrive at Harewood at the usual time of 8.15 a.m. and will leave at 11 a.m. In November, December. and February there will be five flights between Melbourne and Christchurch, and in January and March there will be six. “These arrangements will provide the additional frequencies which experience has shown will be adequate for the summer,” said Mr F. G. Hill, statioh manager for T-E.A.L. in Christchurch, yesterday.
