WAR DISABILITY PENSION
DEPUTATION TO WAIT ON MINISTER “We should support Auckland wholeheartedly in this matter. I think we should be 100 per cent, behind them.” said Mr R. J. Cornwall, when a letter was received from the Dominion executive committee of the Returned Services’ Association by the executive of the Christchurch association last evening, stating that the Auckland branch had suggested to the committee that a deputation should wait on the Minister in charge of War Pensions (Mr T. L Macdonald) asking for an increase in the war disability pension. ~ , _ , The letter said the Auckland branch had suggested that a deputation consisting of representatives from the four major associations and the Dominion executive should wait on the Minister. The suggestion had been approved by the Dominion committee. The letter asked for the support of the Christchurch association. It was unanimously decided to support the deputation, and Mr’D. Barrett, of the" Christchurch executive, and Messrs E. F. Willcox, the branch’s representative on the Dominion executive committee, and A. Elliot, the district vice-president, were appointed represent the branch on the deputation.
