LIBERATION OF POLAND

CALL BY SENATOR NIXON (Rec. 9 p.m.) NEW YORK. October 5. Senator Richard Nixon, tjie Republican Vice-Presidential candidate, today called on the United States to repudiate the Yalta agreement and use peaceful means to seek Poland’s liberation from Soviet Communist domination. Senator Nixon said: “It should be a matter of sorrow to every American, whatever his origin, to ponder the fate of Poland today. Due to the shameful Yalta agreement, in which, unfortunately. the United States bears an awful responsibility, and due to the Soviet Government’s violation of even the terms of that agreement, Poland today is shackled by its Communist masters. “We must give hope to the people of Poland for their eventual freedom. That hope can be rekindled by our repudiation of the Yalta commitments * & at abet Communist slavery of the free nations and by working unremittingly in a peaceful fashion for Poland’s liberation.”
