AVON CLUB The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Avon Rowing Club : Patron, Mr A. R. Wood; president, Nix G. L. Young; vice-Ypresident, Messrs F. Agassiz, A* K. Woodham, L. J. Webb, B. R. Walker, and C. A. Stiles; club captain, Mr M. Stove; vice-captain, Mr D. Neal; secretary, Mr R. V. Stiles; treasurer, Mr K. G. Young; selectors, Messrs M. Stove, D. Neal, and G. L. Young; delegates to Canterbury Rowing Association, Messrs B. R. Walker and M. Stove; general committee, Messrs E. Conaglen, J. Hampton, R. Gatehouse. G. Bowden, E. Billings, M. Mahoney, and J. James; hon. billiards treasurer, Mr A. R. Wood; auditor, Mr H. J. Brixton: delegate to Canterbury Sports Protection Associaiton, Mi K. G. Young. It was reported that rowers from other centres stationed at Wigram will train from the club. The club opening day was fixed for Saturday, October 18.
