PENSIONERS’ CHRISTMAS PARTY

Sir, —Christmas month is in the offing, and this year we hope to cater again for our old people with their Christmas party. As I have pointed out in previous years, to many of these old folk it is the one and only party in the year in which they can participate. This is their day; and. as the guests of honour, they enjoy it to the full. Each year the cost increases, but the citizens of Christchurch have always made it possible for us to provide a real repast. They will, I feel sure, do likewise this year. Last December we seated just on 800. This year we expect more. Any donation in cash or in kind sent to the undersigned will be gratefully acknowledged and faithfully applied.—Yours, etc. JOHN H. THOMAS, Honorary Secretary, New Zealand Pensioners’ Association 27 Worcester street. Christchurch.
