JUNIOR CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE

ANNUAL N.Z. CONVENTION IN BLENHEIM (New Zealand Press Association) BLENHEIM, October 5. The Wairoa Junior Chamber of Commerce was awarded the Alfred Eady trophy for the best project carried out during the year, at the annual New Zealand convention of Junior Chambers of Commerce in Blenhejm. The project of the Wairoa chamber was a youth centre. The second place in the contest went to .the Hastings chamber, whose project was an orthopaedic centre. The Stotter Oratory Trophy, comSeted for annually, was won by Mr ohn McDonald, of Wellington. Mr John Rayner, of Auckland, was second, and Mr PCter Dunbar, of Christchurch, third. The final of the debating contest resulted: Wellington 1, Dunedin 2. The Peter B. Watts Trophy for general excellence went to the Wellington chamber.
