HYDROELECTRIC STORAGE
FALL OVER WEEK-END A light northerly wind with only a trace of rain in the ranges resulted in a drop from 37,860,000 units to 35,850,000 units in the South Island hydro-electric storage yesterday. In the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday only .Olin of rain fell at Coleridge, none at Monowai, 09in at Waipori, and none at Tekapo. Yesterday’s losses have cancelled out Saturday’s gains and the situation is much the same as it was before the recent rain. x Power will be cut off, except for essential services, in the whole of the Municipal Electricity Department’s area between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. from Monday to Thursday this week.
