WAIMATE CLUB

PROFIT OF £607 FOR YEAR

It was decided at the annual meeting of the Waimate Racing Club recently to recommend to the incoming committee that the club accept from the Waimate Trotting Club a rental of 1 tier cent, on that club’s totalisator turnover until negotiations on joint control were completed The net profit for the year amounted to £607 3s, compared with £72 Ils lOd for the previous year, said the president (Mr M. J. Meehan) in his annual report. The surplus from the annual race meeting amounted to £764 17s 6d. A considerable sum had ’ been spent on necessary repairs and improvements at. the course, and a considerable amount of maintenance had been carried out. An item on the balance-sheet showed that the rental received from the Waimate Trotting Club was £560. A ballot was necessary for the election of the committee. Those elected were:— Major N. A. Rattray, Messrs S. D. Vincent, G. McCulloch, L. J. Conder, L. C. Jones, C. Simmons, J. Simmons. C. Cochrane, A. R. Manchester, F. Mcßae, M. J. Meehan, and V. J. Meehan. Mr A. H. Cook was appointed auditor.
