ANZUS DEFENCE TALKS
Conference Ends At Pearl Harbour (N.Z Presff Association-Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) HONOLULU, September 25. The Anzus Military Council today concluded its three-day conference and announced that it would meet again in Melbourne, Wellington and Pearl Harbour when occasion demanded. A bulletin issued at the conclusion of the conference said: “In accordance with the agreement reached at the recent meeting of the Anzus Council in Honolulu, the military representatives have been in conference to work out details of the military machinery required and to advise the council, on the problems of military co-operation which may arise in connexion with the application of the Anzus Treaty. “The military representatives will meet in future as occasion demands. Normally such meetings will be rotated among Pearl Harbour, Wellington and Melbourne. “At present no expansion of permanently-assigned officers for liaison purposes is contemplated, but arrangements for continuing liaison between meetings have been made.”
