Central Body Not To Be Established plan rejected BY MINISTER

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 26. One major recommendation of the Royal Commission on the Waterfront Industry will be rejected. Another of the commission’s proposals will also be shelved, at least temporarily. The Minister of Labour (Mr W. Sullivan) has accepted the unanimous recommendation of the New Zealand Harbours Association, rejecting the proposal for a central harbours commission. He has also accepted a recommendation by the association to defer until they become practicable suggested new wharfinger arrangements tor a number of ports, including Auckland. Details of the Minister’s decisions were given to the Auckland Harbour Board today, in a report on a meeting of the Harbours Association in Wellington this week.
