The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue is:— Situation: an anti-cyclone over the Tasman is moving on to New Zealand. Forecast: light or moderate winds from a northerly quarter; weather fair to fine and milder. Outlook for Sunday; fair to cloudy. . The forecast for the Wesi Coast of the South Island is:— Light winds; weather fair to cloudy; temperatures moderate. Outlook for Sunday: cloudy, with scattered rain. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and sunny, after a frost of 3JZ degrees. The maximum temperature was 81.2 degrees There was a light southwest wind early in the day. and a light north-easterly in the afternoon. At midnight the sky was clear, and a moderate east-north-east wind was blowing. The temperature was 44.2 degrees. The barometer, at 30.112 Inches (1419.7 millibars), was falling slowly.
