MANAWATU BEATS KING COUNTRY
(New Zealand Press Association) v PALMERSTON NORTH, Aug. 17. In the last match of their three-game tour, the King Country Rugby representatives were defeated 11-3 by Manawatu on Saturday. With only occasional flashes of lively back play, the match was principally a gruelling forward duel. For Manawatu, tries were scored by B. Finlay and J. Shaw. B. Roddick converted one try and kicked a penalty goal. King Country s points came from a penalty goal kicked by T. Katene.
