YOUNG FARMERS’ SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP The following were the results of the South Island Young Farmers’ Clubs' championship ploughing match, held in conjunction with the Sheffield Club's match, on Mr R. Wilson's Meg. 65, 1; B. Wright, 44, 2. Liner Arawa Delayed.—The Shaw Savill liner, Arawa, left Southampton to-day for Australia and New Zealand nearly 48 hours late, after repairs to one of her turbines. Coach tours were arranged for the 274 passengers while the repairs were carried out.:— London, August 2.
