INVITATION TO N.Z. DECLINED
BRITISH MINISTER OF DEFENCE (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 31. Because of the international situation, and because he must return to London as soon as possible, the British Minister of Defence (Earl Alexander) has declined an invitation by the New Zealand Government to come to New
Zealand at the end of his forthcoming visit to Korea. In a cablegram to the Prime Minister (Mr Holland), Earl Alexander said he declined the invitation with extreme regret “I also am extremly sorry that Earl Alexander cannot make the trip,” said the Prime Minister to-day. “It is a pity, for a great deal of advantage could have accrued from it.”
