Ktotoa, which met trouble in the straight from breaking horses, made up ground for fourth, just ahead of Efficient, which had broken several times in the running. Deportment broke at the start and he did well to finish sixth, ahead of Black Light. Alandale, and Pablo. Quendon, the favourite, had every chance, but he was not good enough on the day.
Milford Maid in Form The consistent Milford Maid made a fine effort to win the Autumn Handicap. She was slow at the start of the race and gradually made up ground. She moved up smartly after passing the six and she was handy to the leaders at the straight entrance. At the furlong she was on the outside of Tarzan Grattan and Brucus, with Young Tony, Peterhead, and Three Cheers handy. Tarzan Grattan and Milford Maid soon worked clear of the others, with the latter finishing slightly the better, to win by half a length. Tarzan Grattan was always handy to the leaders, and he took control with just under six furlongs to run. He -held on solidly and may win soon. Three Cheers ran his best race for some time to take third place, ahead of the fast-finishing Dusky Logan, which had met trouble early. Brucus was handy in fifth place, ahead of Young Tony, which had lost his position near the mile. Idle Fancies, Delia Grattan, and Moreta headed the remainder. '
