U.N. Stands Firm On Terms

(Rec. 12.10 a.m.) TOKYO, May 30. The United Nations Armistice delegates will listen indefinitely to Ctftnmunist propaganda at Panmunjon in the hope that the Communists may decide to conclude the Korean truce. This was stated to-day by BrigadierGeneral William Nuckols, who added: “We will continue to repeat that our position is final.” At to-day’s meeting, General Nam Il alleged that the United Nations Command was preparing for “another mass slaughter” of prisoners on Koje Island.

The delegates agreed to meet again to-mqrrow.

ENEMY CASUALTIES (Rec. 11.40 p.m.) TOKYO, May 30. The United Nations ground forces claimed 2197 Communist casualties during the week ended last Wednesday, as enemy probing attacks intensified along the Korean battle line. The total included 1102 killed.
