IMPROVED ZINC SUPPLIES
QUOTA PROGRAMME SUSPENDED
(Rec. 7 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 29. Because of improved supplies, the International Materials Conference today announced the suspension of all international zinc allocations. The conference’s copper, zinc, and lead committee said that no allocation of zinc would be made for the third quarter of this year and that the present second quarter allocations of zinc were also suspended. The suspension of zinc quotas was the first official recognition by the conference of the recent softening in the world metal markets.
