CRISIS IN FRANCE

Special Broadcast By Minister

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 12.40 a.m.) PARIS, May 30. The Minister of the Interior (Mr Charles Brune) said in a special broadcast to-day that the French Government plans to keep the country fully informed of “criminal action” by the Communist Party against the Republican regime and democracy. Mr Brune said that the Government had forbidden Communist demonstrations against General Ridgway, but the Communist Party deliberately changed the demonstrations into real riots. “The Government which kept order yesterday, and which will keep it tomorrow, intends, whatever happens, to keep the country informed of the Communists’ criminal action.”
