CAPITAL FOR MURUPARA

Sir,— Having read the editorial - on capital for Murupara I, for one, am still of the opinion that if Parliament requires plant and materials from overseas for Murupara, it must not mortgage either the scheme or the nation for money which would have to be borrowed and spent in the same country. Any politicians, institutions or persons borrowing foreign money will be held responsible for the repayment of such money, as far as 1 am concerned. My reason for the above opinion is that it is impossible to borrow, say, dollars; spend them in America and still have them to paj back at some later date. Why put money into the World Bank and then borrow it back and pay interest to the bank? Dear sir, please stop cheating.—Yours, etc., HOLLOWAy May 30, 1952.
