The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue, is:— Situation: an anti-cyclone extends across New Zealand from the Tasman Sea. Forecast: light to moderate variable winds: weather fair to fine, with moderate day temperatures. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Light to moderate winds; weather fair to cloudy; temperatures cool to moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of 1 degree, the day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, with a light wind from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 59.3 degrees. At midnight the sky was overcast, and there was a light wind from the north-east. The temperature was 48.6 degrees. The barometer, at 30.03 inches (1016.9 millibars), was falling steadily. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 1 am. Trace Meteorological observations taken at the Magnetic Survey. Christchurch, on Monday, May 12:—
