N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS NEXT YEAR

WILDING PARK SELECTED The New Zealand lawn tennis championships for 1953 will be held at Wilding Park, Christchurch, from January 3 to January 10. These dates were allocated by the last meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association and accepted at a meeting of the Canterbury Association’s management committee last evening. APPOINTMENT OF COACH The management committee of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association will recommend to a combined meeting of delegates from the senior and junior associations that T. Brooks be appointed tennis coach for Canterbury in the coming season. This was decided at a meeting of the committee last evening. Brooks was engaged for a short time at the end of last season. Mr G. E. R. Atkinson suggested that Brooks be asked to coach for a period of six months in the coming season.
