CLAIM BY WIDOW SETTLED

By consent, Mr Justice Northcroft gave judgment in the Supreme Court yesterday for Margaret Marion White, a widow, against the Waiwera County Council for £2303 Ils 2d, with costs and disbursements and witnesses’ expenses to be fixed by the Registrar. Mr C. S. Thomas who, with Mr E. M. Hay, appeared for the widow, asked for judgment. Eric James White, a truck driver, employed by the defendant council, was struck by a fall of clay in a quarry at Birdling’s Flat on May 26, 1951, and sustained Injuries from which he died, he said. Mr R. W. Edgley, for the defendant council, consented to judgment being entered.
