WAIKATO CLUB "The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. May 9. The weather continues fine and mild, and conditions promise to be very favourable for the opening of the Waikato Racing Club’s winter meeting at Te Rape tomorrow. Unless there is rain, the track will be in exceptionally good order. The double will be on the Waikato Hurdles and the Hamilton Handicap. Selections are:— 10.45 a.m.—Te Rapa Bracelet: Galahad, Big Acre, Bronze Sailor. 11.55 a.m.—Matanei Hack Hurdles: Luminous, Neutron, Nionyx. 12.20 p.m.—Gordonton Plate: First Division, Way In, Silver Gollen, Niblick; Second Division, Te Awa, Teddy’s Choice, Aerobee. 1.10 p.m.—Waikato Hurdles: Personality, Guardsman, Regality. 2 p.m.—Vereoe Memorial Steeplechase: Censor, The Trader, Savile Row. 2.50 p.m.—Hamilton Handicap: Sobranie, Duchess Sal, Robert Craig. 3.35 p.m.—Maero* Handicap: Sandow, Prince Regent, Arawa. 4.25 p.m.—Whatawhata Hack Handicap: Great Peter, Refreshing, Hunting Flight.
