Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue, is:— Situation: an intense anti-cyclone over the Tasman Sea is moving slowly on to New Zealand. Forecast: winds light or moderate and variable; weather fair to fine and cool. Outlook: fine. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island: — Light or moderate south-west winds; weather becoming cloudy, with scattered rain in the south; temperatures cool. Outlook: some brief showers. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, after a frost of 1 degree. The maximum temperature was 56.7 degrees. At midnight the sky was overcast, and a moderate north-east wind was blowing. The temperature was 42.4 degrees. The barometer, at 30.154 Inches (1021.1 millibars), was falling unsteadily.
