RACING DALRAY LOSES FAVOUR
CHANCE IN SYDNEY CUP (NJZ. Press Association— CopyrigM) ’ SYDNEY, March 27. A leading doubles bookmaker has promoted Peshawar and Hydrogen to equal second favouritism in the Sydney Cup, and has dropped the New Zealand horse, Dalray, to the third line. On other charts Dalray remains in the second line. D.elta remains a clear-cut favourite. Keen Sydney judges are reported to be disappointed with Dalray’s appearance, in spite of a warning by his trainer, C. McCarthy, that the colt was unlikely to impress at first sight. Dalray and Hydrogen are the only three-year-olds in the field with weight-for-age rating. 8-2. The top-weight, Delta, concedes them 191 b. Of the seven three-year-olds which have won the cup in the last 25 years, four have carried weight-for-age or better.
