INVITATION TO MAJOR LLOYD GEORGE
N.Z. GOVERNMENT AWAITS REPLY (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 3. The New Zealand Government still awaits a reply from the United Kingdom Food Minister (Major Gwilliam Lloyd George) to an invitation to visit the Dominion and study food production methods. The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) said to-day that when he was in London holding discussions on the question of an increased supply of foodstuffs from New Zealand to -the United Kingdom he impressed on Major Lloyd George the value of paying such a visit to the Dominion. “I invited him to come and see for himself, and meet the producers and study conditions in our industries, especially the transport industry, which plays such a vital part in the movement of supplies from producer to consumer,” said Mr Holland. “Major Lloyd George told me he would be most happy to come, but there were some big difficulties in the way—the size of his Government’s majority being the least of them.”
