SHUT-DOWN OF ELECTRICITY
ALTERATIONS TO EQUIPMENT NO EXEMPTIONS TO BE MADE A complete shut-doWn of power supply by the Municipal Electricity Department oetwben 12.10 a m. ana 12.25 a.m. is being tnade in three areas in turn this Week to enable the State Hydro-electric Department to make alterations to its equipment at the Addington sub-station. No exceptions are being made to the restriction and essential services are planning to use stand-by platits for the quarter hour interval. The roster, which began this morning, is as follows: Tuesday—Hilltnorten, Fendaltbh. Upper Riccartoh, Russley. and Masham. Wednesday—Christchurch city, north Of Moothouse avenue, Osborne street,Bordesley street, Harrow street, Aldwins road, Linwood avehue, Canal te serve. New Brighton, and Burwood.
Thursday—Christchurch City, south of Wednesday’s limits, Halswell, Mount Pleasant, and SUrtiher. During the shut down, the • State Hydro-electric Department will make alterations to its connexions so that a secondary line of supply will be available in event of failure to all the districts concerned.
