BRILLIANT YOUNG CORNETIST

MR KEN SMITH ON SHORT VISIT TO N.Z. The brilliant young cornetist, Mr Ken Smith, of Dunedin, who returned to New Zealand recently for a short visit after two years with one of England’s leading brass bands, the Fairey Aviation Wdrks Band, will be playing at the Civic Theatre with the Christchurch Municipal Band and other artists next Tuesday evening. It will be his only appearance in Christchurch. This week he has been practising with the St. Kilda Band for the New Zealand cnampionships next month. To-day he is appearing in the Wellington Town Hall with Wellington massed bands. After the championships at Dunedin in February Mr Smith Will return to England.
