SECOND TEST AT BOMBAY

(Rec. 8.30 p.m.) BOMBAY. Dec. IS. England, facing India’s first innings total of 485 for nine wickets declared, scored 40 for the loss of one wicket on the second day of the second test at Bombay. Left with one hour’a batting Lowaon and Robertson made a comfortable but after they had acored 18 in half an hour Lowson was caught. India’s total, of which Vijay Harare, the captain, scored a splendid 155, was the country’s highest in any test Hazare was unfortunate to be run out when within nine runs of his 164 not out in the first test, which was the highest individual score bv an Indian against England. Hazare. however, set up another record. His aggregate of 319 runs for two successive innings is the best for India in a test scries against England.
