BIG REPAYMENTS BY BRITAIN

(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 15. It was officially announced to-d-y that Britain would make her first annual payments of capital and interest on the post-war united States and Canadian dollar loans, due on December 31. The Treasury said that after reviewing Britain’s financial situation they had decided not to exercise the right of a waiver of interest payments on the loans. . Britain will also repay capital and interest on outstanding lend-lease debts to the United States. The total amount to be paid to the United States and Canada is £6,200,000.

KING SPENDS WEEKEND AT WINDSOR

(Bee 8 p.m.) LONDON. December 15. His Majesty drove to-day from Buckingham Palace to the Royal Lodge, Windsor, where he will spend the week-end.
