Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours after the time of issuer is:— Situation: depressions are centred east and west of Cook Strait. Forecast: moderate southerly winds; weather cloudy, with occasional showers, especially near the coast; temperatures moderate. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the; West Coast of the South Island:— Moderate variable winds; weather changeable, with further scattered showers.
CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday I was overcast, with occasional light rain. ' There was a moderate south-west wind. I The maximum temperature was 60 de- 1 grees. At midnight, light rain was falling, and a light south-west wind was blowing. The temperature was 53.9 degrees, and the barometer, at 29.814 inches (1099.6 millibars), was rising.
