HEALTH STANDARDS
Sir, —Might it be respectfully suggested that the Ministers of Health and Education confer upon the need of wash basins in all classrooms where practical work is done. Clean and careful handling of materials (not even for writing or reading) cannot be expected without careful instruction to pupils unaware of its importance to themselves and society (where home training lacks) without facility for demonstration and practice. Selfrespect leads to full and co-operative citizenship and the safeguarding of health and property, personal and public.—Yours, etc., ’ EXPERIENCE TEACHES. December 14, 1951.
