JUDGE ARRESTED IN KENYA
CORRUPTION CHARGE
NAIROBI, October 14. Judge William James LockhartSmith, a former Attorney-General of Nyasaland and now Judge of the East Africa Court of Appeal, has been arrested in Nairobi on charges of conspiracy and official corruption. He was taken in charge by the Kenya police yesterday. Judge Lockhart-Smith, who is 49, has had a career in the colonial service, whi-h he joined in 19?*. He has served in Africa since 1938, except for a period as Attorney-Gen-eral in Gibraltar.
