GROSS PROCEEDS £268,418 FOR YEAR (New Zealana Press Association) WELLINGTON. September 28. Gross sales of tickets in the 13 regular £5OOO art unions held duiing the year ended on March 31, 1951, amounted to £268 418. The net proceeds totalled £lO2 877. the commission on sales £4O 263. expenses £33.437 prizes £65.000. and lottery duty £26.841. The annual report of the Department of Internal Affairs says that out of the commission on sales, sellers ana district agents were required to find office accommodation, clerical assistance, and expenses of telephones, postage and exchange.
