MR J. SHANKLAND AGAIN PRESIDENT
Mr James Shankland has been reelected unopposed as president of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Tramways Union. The election of the branch’s officers is being held at present. There are three nominations for the two vice-presidents’ positions. They are Messrs D. J. Buckley. F. C. Webb, and c. C. H. Harbott. Messrs Bucklev and Webb are the sitting vice-presidents. B Three members are required as representatives on the national council, and four nominations have been received. They are those of Messrs Buckley, Harbott, Shankland and L C. J. Southon. Messrs Buckley, Shankland and Southon are sitting members Seventeen nominations have been received for the eight seats on the executive. Included in the nominations are all eight of the sitting members. Voting will close on October 10.
