More Money Sought For Schools.— To meet increased school costs, the Technical Education Association of New Zealand, at its conference in Wellington, decided to urge the Education Department to increase general purpose grants. The directors of the Wellington Technical College (Mr E. G. Cousins) said equipment was deteriorating because grants did not cover all maintenance. Colleges could economise, but that would perpetuate a state where there would never be adequate money to meet needs.—(P. A.)
