AIR SERVICE TO RAROTONGA

HUNDREDTH FLIGHT FROM NEW ZEALAND

(New Maland Press Association) WELLINGTON. September 17.

Girls in native costume presented leis to each member of the crew of the National Airways Corporation Aircraft which arrived at Rarotonga on Thursday, September 6, marking the hundredth flight completed by the regional service, says a New Zealand Press Association correspondent. The Acting Resident Commissioner traced the history of the service from the time it was inaugurated by the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1945, and spoke of the very high standard' set by the service. The value of the regular fortnightly service to Rarotonga could not be over-emphasised, he said. The captain of the aircraft was then presented with a letter expressing the appreciation of the Administration and people for the service provided.
