SOVIET “WOOING” OF JAPAN

SAN FRANCISCO, September 9 It is generally believed that Russia’s next diplomatic move in the Far East will be to try to woo Japan aytnjf from the United States ana her Western allies, the American Associated Press reported to-day. As the Russian delegates to the San Francisco conference did not threaten that if the treaty was signed Russia would go to war. it is believed that she is not ready yet to start anything thet might lead to a third world war. Mr Gromyko’s strongest assertion was that the treaty “sows the seeds of a new war in the Far East.” Russia is expected to try to coax Japan away from the United States and her Western allies by drawing up a treaty.
