LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
NEW BRIGHTON BRANCH FORMED
More than 100 women attended the inaugural meeting of the New Brighton branch of the League of Mothers recently. The provincial president (Mrs W. Grant) presided and welcomed the Mayoress (Mrs R. M. Macfprlane) and the provincial secretary (Mrs J. Davidson) and renresentatives from several branches in Christchurch Mrs Grant outlined the history of the league since its inception by Lady Alice Ferguson.
The following officers were elected: S resident, Mrs E. B. Kay; secretary, rs J. Neave: assistant secretary, Mrs H. McDougall: treasurer. Mrs E. Sutton; magazine secretary, Mrs R. B. committee. Mesdames Fletcher R Luke G. Lake, K. Nairn. Noldus C. Randall and G. R. Stokell. A orogramme of items was given by members of the Riccarton and Papan ii branch choirs. 7716 accompanists were Mrs H. Govan and Mrs E. L. Manning. The creche was conducted by Mrs C. A. Noble, who was assisted bv members of the league.
