BODY FOUND ON - YACHT
MAN ON WORLD CRUISE BRISBANE. September 3. The completely disembowelled body of, a man with one leg missing was found yesterday on a luxury yacht iground in the Fitzroy river, 23 miles from Rockhampton. The yacht is the 38ft ketch Christine in which Dr. Ernest Alexander Joske. aged 56. married, of Adelaide, is sailing alone around the world. Police believe the body is that of Dr. Joske. The body was hanging over the side of the yacht. The right leg was torn off at the hip. Police believe the man may have been attacked by a shark while swimming near the yacht and that he just managed to scramble back on board. Another theory is that the shark attacked him w’hile he was leaning over the side. Police found the body after the Christine drifted into the Fitzroy river. One of the man’s arms was dragging overboard and the other arm was entangled in the rigging. Dr. Joske left A.delaide in the Christine on September 28 last year intending to sail around the world on a study trip. He hoped to do cancer research in the United States and Britain. He intended to sail across the Tasman to New Zealand, then across the Pacific to Panama.
