N.Z. Wants Ban On Navy, Air Force

New Zealand and Australia had urged that the United States-Japanese bilateral security agreement stipulate that Japan must not have a navy or air force, James Reston, diplomatic correspondent of the »N C w York Times, reported m a dispatch from San j?fancisco to-day. ,Otat ChWs »' thi. The draft pact insisted that Japan should not possess under kff OW n control armament that could become an offensive to other nations.
New Zealand and Australia are known to have urged that should be made more specific in the AmericanJapanese pact.
