RANFURLY SHIELD CHALLENGES
N.Z. UNION CONFIRMS PROGRAMME (New Zealand Press Awo eta Mon) WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. The Waikato Rugby Union has advised the New Zealand Rugby Union that itsi remaining Ranfurly Shield matches will be against Taranaki on September 15 and against Wanganui on September 29. It had been unable to fit in special challenges from Walrarapa and South Canterbury because of lack of dates. Wanganui* special challenge had been given preference over that of Walrarapa and South Canterbury, as It had been originally set down to play the previous holder «n earlier date than had Walrarapa. HURUNUI SUB-UNION COMPETITION
Results of the semi-final of the Hurunui Rugby Sub-union's senior knock-out competition, played on Saturday, were as follows;—United 12. Cheviot 0; Culverden 8. Kaikoura 3. In the Anal of the junior knockout competition Kaikoura beat Cheviot A, 14-6.
