APPROVAL GRANTED BY SENATE

CANTERBURY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

Approval for the setting up of a chair in fine arts at Canterbury University College was granted yesterday by the Senate of the University ol New Zealand. Approval was also given for the establishments of chairs in agricultural botany and animal physiology and health at Canterbury Agricultural College. Lincoln. Candidates for a Diploma in Fine Arts will be required to sit four examinations—a preliminary examination and three professional examinations. There has been a chair in fine arts at Auckland University College for some years.
