Forecast: moderate north-easterly winds predominating. Weather cloudy, with scattered driz’e end lieht rain, chiefly near the coast. Temperatures cool. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate easterly winds. Weather fair, with moderate to mild day temperatures. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday morning was overcast and showery, with cold north-easterly winds. The afternoon was fine The maximum temperature was 617 degrees. At midnight, the sky was overcast, and there was a very light north-e»st wind. The temperature was 45.4 degrees. The ha-ometer. at 30.136 ine*-es (1020. S millibars), was rising unsteadily.
