Unusual passengers flown from Gisborne to Auckland by air on Thursday by the National Airways Corporation were 22 wekas. which were being sent to the Auckland zoo. The wekas were captured earlier in the week by the Wild Life branch of the Internal Affairs Department. The birds are common in the Gisborne district, but are rarely seen elsewhere in the North Island.
