Eight Men Charged With Complicity

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 n.m.) AMMAN, August 11. The Prime Minister of Jordan, Abdul el Huda Tawfig Pasha, announced today that eight people have been arrested for complicity in the assassination of King Abdullah on July 20. Two others implicated in the crime were abroad.

The eight arrested were Dr. Musa Abdullah Husseini, Abed Okke, Abdul Kadlr Farhay, Zakariya Okke, Tewfik Husseini. Dr. Daud Husseini. Father Ibraham Ayyad, and Kamel Kaluti. The two abroad were named as Abdullah Tell, a former Colonel, and Musa Ahmed Ayubi. The eight who have been arrested will be tried bv a military court.

Abdullah Tell, the most prominent of the accused, was formerly Governor of Jerusalem. Dr. Musa Abdullah and Abed Okke are said to have confessed to their complicity. Father Ibraham Ayyad belongs to the Franciscan Order. It is alleged that he used a radio transmitter found in his lodgings to get in touch with the Vatican. He is stated to have declared that his radio conversations concerned develonments on the internationalisation of Jerusalem, on which he was under orders to report.
